Wednesday follows Tuesday

We received some great news after visiting with about a dozen people (specialists) on Tuesday... but unfortunately,
I felt too poorly to post the news until now.

So, here's the important stuff.

The stem cell search of 1,000 hits was reduced to 6... and then reduced to 2. Both donors have never donated before
(that's good news) and have said YES!
Now, their blood samples will be taken and sent here to
MD Anderson to see which of the two is the best match for me.
I'm told it is very uncommon to have so many donors to choose from.

Someone is working mighty hard out there.

Plans are to push the matching down from 14-days to 7-days; then I could start preparing for transplant rather than another round of chemo.

I must say that coming here, finding a home, having Kathy as my care provider
and being accepted here at MD Anderson by Dr. Kantarjian and Dr. deLima have been more than I deserve.

Thank you all for your support and well wishes - so far... it's all working!

Patti says, I have seen your inner strength and I am cofident you can beat this. It is your payback time from all of us that you have given support to through all these years either emotionally, physically and/or financially. It is your turn to hear how much you are loved and appreciated.

Do not forget laughter!

I remember a conversation we had so many years ago concerning the pros and cons of having children. You said you did not need them or want them. I was over joyed when Lora and Julie came into your life - and grandchildren to boot! I was even more over joyed by your excitement of having them and hearing about the joy they, along with Kathy, have given you. It is so great to see you with such a fabulous support team! You more than deserve each and everyone of them and their love for you!

All my love, Jerry, my prayers and thoughts are with you.

Jerry - sounds like a lot of good news going on in your life. You are due!!!

Do you get my jokes by email or do I need to post the best ones on your blog?

I had a meeting with Jon and Bruce yesterday. Though there is still no money, things on many other fronts are moving forward very nicely.
